Dr William Turner
Dr William Turner is a Consultant Anaesthetist and departmental Lead for High-Risk Obstetric Anaesthesia and Obstetric Anaesthetic Education and Departmental Lead for Research and Audit. He trained at the University of Nottingham and holds a masters degree in chemistry alongside his medical qualifications and completed a research fellowship in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto. He is an Associate Researcher at Kingston University and holds a Mohn Academic Consultant Research Fellowship.
His research spans perioperative medicine and preventative health, with a particular focus on women’s health, maternal pain relief and the care of women with complex medical conditions in pregnancy.
Alongside his NHS practice he is Medical Director of Effect Doctors, a London clinic providing preventative health assessment, diagnostic testing and intravenous therapy. His wider interests are in preventative and lifestyle medicine, including metabolic health, iron and micronutrient optimisation, sleep and physical performance.
